The British High Commission in Maputo today reiterated its support for Mozambican political institutions minutes after the swearing in of the elected members of the Assembly of the Republic.
In a post on its official Facebook page, the British High Commission said that its presence, represented by Helen Lewis, at the swearing-in ceremony of the MPs elected in the legislative elections, reflects the UK's support for Mozambican political institutions, as well as the historical links between the parliaments of Mozambique and the UK.
For the British High Commissioner Maputo, the existing political links between Mozambique and the UK are essential to promote a meaningful and credible dialogue, which advances the necessary political reforms, and is for all political actors, so the UK is ready to continue supporting this process
