A group of Renamo members in Quelimane gathered at the Renamo delegation, where they chanted, demanding the resignation of the current delegate, Inácio Reis.
The group, which involved members and heads of administrative posts, complained about the current management of Renamo's provincial political delegation, because it was being banned from demonstrating.
"We want to find out if the president or someone else gave the go-ahead. We want to know why Renamo members in Zambézia are not being allowed to march," said Virgílio Benedito, head of post, as quoted by the newspaper "O Pais".
The source also said that the party is losing members. "Two months have passed since the elections and there has been no pronouncement," he said.
Sitiana Domingos, another Renamo member, denounced the lack of collaboration between the provincial delegate and party members.
"He says that if we want to march, we have to find a place to concentrate. He tells us to stop using the Renamo flag and to tell the leader of the list to create a symbol for marching," he accused.
Reacting to this position, Inácio Reis said that Renamo has a central command that must be obeyed. He also says that the position of the members is unjustified and adds that the non-use of party symbols in the marches is a central command.
"Renamo is not happy with the results, but Renamo has a command. And it is this command that everyone who is a member has to respect and obey."
Meanwhile, Renamo members say that, until Inácio Reis resigns, they will chant and continue to demand his resignation at the party's provincial delegation. (Source: O País)
