Niassa/Tumultos: Polícia confisca celulares dos Jornalistas em Mecanhelas

The Police of the Republic of Mozambique confiscated cell phones from four journalists while they were covering the social unrest in the town of Insaca in Mecanhelas yesterday.

The four journalists were taken to the SERNIC director's office, where the SISE district director was also.

According to CIP Eleições, the journalists were forced to delete the images, but refused. They were later given back their work tools without any images being deleted.

This happened in Mecanhelas, after a disturbance involving members of Podemos and Frelimo, which culminated in Podemos members being shot by the police.
