The musician Dilon Djindji, king of marrabenta, lost his life at the age of 97 in the early hours of Wednesday morning at Maputo Central Hospital.

The musician lost his life at midnight on Wednesday in the cardiology department of Maputo's Central Hospital, at the age of 97, a victim of illness, according to "O País".
The musician leaves behind his wife, eight children and many grandchildren.
Dilon Djindji was born on August 14, 1927, in Marracuene, 30 kilometers from the Mozambican capital. At the age of 12, he made his first guitar, with just three strings, from an oil can.
At the age of 15, Dilon began playing at weddings and private parties, encouraged by his older sister. At the time, he was playing the popular musical styles of dzukuta and magic.
