Meta technology is testing audio message transcriptions in the WhatsApp application, with the aim of facilitating conversations. For now, it's available to some beta testers and is expected to become available to more users in the coming weeks.
This feature aims to harmonize conversations when you're in a place where you can't hear the audio of a conversation, especially when it's noisy.
According to Meta, quoted by the portal WabetainfoThe text log makes it easier to find the subject of a conversation than inspecting every audio message left behind. It will also help users with limited hearing to understand the audio.
"The languages already supported in the transcripts are English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Hindi. Users will have to download the languages they are interested in to the app before they can start using the audio transcripts," reads the publication, adding that new languages should be introduced after the official launch of the app.
Meanwhile, the website indicates that the transcripts of the audio messages are made on the smartphone, which increases the privacy of the conversations, ensuring that no one else hears or reads the audios and their texts.
