The President of Timo-Leste, José Ramos Horta, who is continuing his state visit to the country, is taking part in a working lunch this Saturday with the former President of the Republic, Joaquim Chissano.

Joaquim Chissano played a notable role in the independence efforts in East Timor, where he was awarded the Grand Collar of the Order of East Timor in recognition of his contribution to the victory of the Timorese people against colonialism and foreign occupation.

The meeting is a sign of friendship and esteem between the Timorese people and the former Mozambican statesman, Joaquim Chissano.(RM)
