The National Football Team (Mambas) has climbed seven places in the FIFA rankings and is now in position 103, with 1205.85 points, according to FIFA's recent update.
The two victories, against Somalia at home by two goals to one and Guinea-Conakry in Morocco by one goal without reply, in the qualifying group stage for the 2026 World Cup, were decisive for the national team's rise in the FIFA rankings.
Before this update, the Mambas were in position 110 in the FIFA rankings, with 1184.49 points, largely due to the fact that they didn't play their FIFA date matches last March.
Algeria, leader of the Mambas' group in the qualifying phase for the 2026 World Cup, is the best-placed team, despite dropping one place to 44th, followed by Guinea Conakry, which also dropped one place to 77th.
Botswana, which is part of the Mambas' group to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, has climbed one place and is in position 145, while Somalia is the lowest ranked, in position 202, after dropping three places.
The FIFA ranking continues to be led by world champions Argentina, followed by runners-up France and Belgium. Morocco, in 12th place, is the best-placed African country.
