The National Football Team (Mambas) drew against Ghana on Monday night by two goals to miss out on the CAN in Ivory Coast.
In a press conference after the match, national coach Chiquinho Conde was proud of the team's performance, stressing that the players showed team spirit.
It was a match in which the Mambas did very well and played with an open chest against an opponent with some status in African soccer.
Ghana, although not very convincing, were the first to score through a penalty in the 15th minute, by Jordan Ayew, the result with which the two teams went into the break.
In the second half, the Ghanaian team extended the lead, again through Jordan Ayew, also from the penalty spot, in the 69th minute.
After conceding the second goal, the Mambas showed more spirit, dominated the game completely and had more possession.
In stoppage time, Geny Catamo converted a penalty to reduce the deficit for the Mambas.
And in the 90th minute, Reinildo Mandava, an Atlético Madrid player, scored with a header to equalize.
In this group, Cape Verde and Egypt are through to the last 16.
