The director-general of the Agrarian Development and Rural Extension Fund (FAR), Adélia Magaia, said yesterday in Maputo that farmers should invest in quality certified seeds, fertilizers and machinery for soil preparation in order to increase production and productivity.

To this end, the source said, it is necessary to guarantee the penetration of technologies in rural areas and an increase in the number of extension workers to assist more families and reach more than one million households by 2024.

The source, who was speaking on the sidelines of the Periodic Technology Review Meeting (REPETE), which brings together researchers, extension workers and producers, said that the sector is working to ensure the penetration of this technology in rural areas.
