Xiquitsi presents the 3rd season of classical music 2022

Xiquitsi apresenta a 3ª temporada de música clássica de 2022

The Classical Music Season, organized by the Xiquitsi Project of the Kulungwana Association, came to an end with two shows to close the year, on 9 and 10 December, at the Santo António da Polana Church and the Cine Teatro Scala, in Maputo, respectively.

They were two powerful evenings where the variety of sounds stood out, an ever-present and inspiring element in the Orquestra Xiquitsi's program. In this edition, the group's cultural ability meant that the rhythm of the music was joined by the principles of Africanity.

On the first evening, the guests attended an orchestral concert called "Family Night" directed by Estêvão Chissano.

On the second evening, the "Closing Concert of the School Year" was attended by special guests such as Wazimbo, Aniano Tamele and Marlene Preta Negra, who performed as soloists, with Kika Materula conducting the orchestra, thus closing the music season on a high note.

Absa has been supporting the Xiquitsi Project for several years because it promotes inclusion, reduces social inequalities and generates multiple opportunities through classical music.

According to Tânia Oliveira, Marketing and Corporate Relations Director, "we are proud to be able to witness the evolution of these young national talents. It's initiatives like this that have a positive impact on young people's lives and in which we see our values embodied, which drive us and make us want to go further and further in promoting education, art and national culture."

Once again, Absa Bank Mozambique is committed to promoting good citizenship practices in the communities in which it operates, involving its customers, partners and employees.

The Xiquitsi project is a Classical Orchestra that provides training in string, wind, percussion and voice instruments, seeking to promote social inclusion and the possibility of change in the lives of children and teenagers who, through the collective practice of music, acquire essential tools for the full development of their abilities.
