The Heads of State and Government of the African Union recognize that there are delays in implementing the programme on industrialization and economic diversification on the continent.
The delay in implementing this programme led the heads of state and government of the African Union to adopt a declaration on industrialization on the continent.
The declaration was adopted at the extraordinary summit of the African Union, which brought together the heads of state and government of this continental organization in the city of Niamey in Niger.
The extraordinary summit served as an opportunity for the member countries of the African Union to share experiences on industrialization and economic diversification.
Prime Minister Adriano Maleiane, who represented the President of the Republic Filipe Nyusi, was quoted by Rádio Moçambique as saying that at the meeting the countries reaffirmed their commitment to industrializing the continent.
At the summit Mozambique shared its structuring programmes on industrialization, highlighting the approach in the agriculture sector. Adriano Maleiane said it was important to talk about the National Industrialize Mozambique programme.
Also representing the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister took part in the conference on the continental free trade zone in Niamey.
It should be noted that Mozambique will be able to complete the process of ratifying the continental free trade area by at least 2023. (RM)
