Beira/Moatize train resumes operation

Retoma circulação de comboio Beira/Moatize

After two years of stoppage, due to the restrictions imposed by Covid 19, the circulation of passenger trains on the railway line between Beira, in Sofala province, and Moatize, in Tete, resumes this Tuesday.

It is known that the paralysis of train circulation caused negative impacts on the development of trade between the two provinces. According to RM, the mobility and trade between the two provinces decreased in intensity.

According to the source the northern districts of Sofala, namely Caia and Chemba, were the most affected by the suspension of passenger train circulation on the railway line between Beira and Moatize in view of the scarcity and high cost of road transport.
