Manica. Mossurize seeks funding for 500 boreholes

The district of Mussorize, in the province of Manica, is looking for financing to drill more than five hundred boreholes that will guarantee the availability of water for the local population, estimated at more than three hundred thousand inhabitants.

The director of the Mussorize Planning and Infrastructure Service, Custódio Lourenço, said quoted by RM that the district has a deficit in water supply and the coverage rate stands at 33.56 %.

According to the source, Mossurize currently has 177 operational boreholes, 28 springs, 10 protected wells and an equal number of water supply systems, but they are still far from covering the needs of the population.

At the moment, the repair of some faulty pumps is underway in order to improve the water supply in some parts of the district.
