FIKANI will move more than 5 thousand tourists

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, said at the opening of the 8th International Tourism Fair in Maputo that this year FIKANI-2022 will attract more than 5,000 domestic and foreign tourists, compared to 4,300 in the previous edition.

The Head of State recalled that tourism around the world has been hit by various adversities and "in our country, the actions of terrorists in Cabo Delgado province have been added to this, despite the vigorous actions of the Defence and Security Forces and their partners, which have resulted in the normalization of the situation and the gradual return of the population to their areas of origin".

"Our presence is a sign of commitment that tourism is a key sector for the country's development," he said.

According to the Head of State, through FIKANI, Mozambique aims to reveal to the world the best it has to offer in terms of culture and tourism, and to make the world aware of the beauty of our country.

FIKANI 2022 is an initiative shared by the government, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MICTUR), the National Tourism Institute (INATUR) and the private sector, represented by the Hotel and Tourism Union.
