The XII Congress of the Frelimo party, which began on Friday, has scheduled for next Monday, the election of the new members of the Central Committee, Political Commission and Secretary General.

The elections for the Central Committee will be contested by the current managers of the party's central bodies, namely, the current members of the Political Commission, the Secretary General, the Secretary of the Verification Committee, the members of the Central Committee Secretariat, and the members of the Government.

In this ballot there will be no chance for figures discarded in the elections held at the provincial level such as Agostinho Vuma, António Niquice and Eduardo da Silva Nihia.

Two other characters from the cream of the party will not renew their mandates for office, namely the Secretary General, Roque Silva, supposedly because he is a man from the south and was abandoned by the party president, and the Secretary for Mobilization and Propaganda, Caifadine Manasse, whose reasons are unknown to us.
