The country registered more than 3,500 child victims of violence in the first semester of this year, with emphasis on physical, sexual, and psychological violence, according to a study released yesterday on Violence against Children in Mozambique.
The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Action says that the study shows that boys are the biggest victims of physical violence, while girls are the most affected by sexual violence.
In order to minimize the problem, the National Director for Children, Angélica Magaia, guarantees that actions are underway to reverse the situation, at various levels.
