The European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, is making a visit to Mozambique between September 8 and 9, which was planned for January but postponed due to Covid-19.
During his trip, the head of diplomacy will hold meetings with President Filipe Nyusi, and with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Veronica Macamo.
According to Lusa news agency, on Friday, Josep Borrell will visit the EU military training mission in Mozambique (EUTM), in Ka-Tembe, Maputo province, and participate in a ceremony to hand over military equipment financed by the European Peace Facility, together with the Director-General of the European Union Military Personnel (EUMS) and head of EU military missions, Vice Admiral Hervé Bléjean.
Also on Friday, Borrell will meet with Defense Minister Cristóvão Chume and visit a cooperation project funded by the European Union.
