ADB provides USD 1 million for local content development

The African Development Bank (AfDB) will soon make available one million dollars to promote a local content development program for women and young entrepreneurs in the country, an official source said.

The Deputy Director-General of the Institute for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises, Luís Machava, said that the project will, in an initial phase, provide technical assistance and support to about one hundred micro, small and medium enterprises, led by women and young people, in the provinces of Maputo and Cabo Delgado.

According to the source cited by RM, the project aims to assist 100 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises owned or managed by young people and women at an early stage, to provide the beneficiaries with the competitive capacity to ensure they achieve the standards required in submitting services to large projects.

Luís Machava was speaking this Tuesday, in Maputo, at the dissemination seminar of the project for the development of local content for women and young entrepreneurs.
