More than 80 illegal immigrants are stranded on the EN7

Mais de 80 emigrantes ilegais estão retidos na EN7

In recent months, Mozambique has been a "stage" for the entry of illegal migrants from various countries in Africa, with almost dubious objectives.

Last Friday, more than 80 illegal immigrants, all of Malawian nationality, were detained by the Migration authorities in Manica province, National Road Number Seven (EN7), informed an official source quoted by Notícias online.

According to the source, the foreigners were being transported in two passenger cars to Maputo, with South Africa as their final destination.

A car was stopped by migration authorities in the Guro district, while a bus was intercepted at the Vanduzi checkpoint along the EN7.

The spokesman for the Migration Service in Manica, Jorge Machava, said that in the two vehicles there were more than 80 citizens of Malawian nationality, in addition to Mozambicans.
