The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a search of former US President Donald Trump's estate this Monday to look for "heavy" documents.
"They even broke into my safe," wrote the former President, for whom "this unannounced raid was neither necessary nor appropriate [as] nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States."
From his perspective, the invasion of his "beautiful home, currently under siege, invaded and occupied by a large group of FBI agents" should only happen to a "Third World Country."
Neither Donald Trump nor the FBI, the US federal police, have clarified why the authorities were executing a court warrant. But it is suspected that on Trump's departure from the US presidency he took classified documents with him to his Mar-A-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida, according to sources close to the case cited by international media.
Trump was forced to return 15 boxes of material requested by the National Archives after being threatened with a lawsuit.
There are traces that indicate that Trump is said to have flushed some of these high-level content documents down the toilet. Photographs show folded paper, with Trump's handwriting, written with his favorite pen, in several toilets at the president's official residence.
In a publication this Monday, the Axios discloses photographs of folded paper, with Trump's handwriting, written with his favorite pen, a Sharpie, in various toilets at the US president's official residence.
According to The Guardian, these photos if true are a violation of the Presidential Records Act and it will have been Trump who personally flushed the documents down the toilets.
This form of document disposal was customary for Trump since the toilets in the White House bathrooms were regularly clogged with papers.
