Father fails attempt to sell three albino children for 2.5 million meticais

A citizen fell into the hands of the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM) in Tete after seeing an attempt to sell his three albino children with the support of his brother (the children's uncle) thwarted.

The two citizens held the minors aged 10, 13 and 16 in captivity and intended to sell them to Malawian buyers for 2.5 million meticais.

After the sale, the intention was that the children would be murdered, and then their organs would be used in superstitious treatments, in order to acquire good health luck.

They fell into the hands of the PRM in Tete thanks to a tip-off, and the police pretended to be interested in buying the children to get the citizens arrested.
