The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) appointed, this Thursday, the Mozambican international referee, Arsénio Marrengula, to referee games of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Marrengula is part of a list of 129 soccer referees, where 19 are from the African continent (seven main referees, ten assistant referees and two VAR's).
Before the World Cup, Marrengula will be in the team that will referee today in Nigeria the final of the African Confederations Cup (CAF) as second assistant.
Marregula has been to the Olympic Games, the Cosafa regional tournament, and the African Nations Championship.

Besides being an arbitrator, Arsénio Marrengula, 35 years old, is a Mechanical Engineer and a university lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering of Eduardo Mondlane University.
