The President of Frelimo, Daniel Chapo, announced yesterday in Matola that the launch of the Flame of National Unity is scheduled for April 7th.

The launch of the Flame of National Unity will take place in the district of Nangade, in Cabo Delgado.

The Flame of National Unity will travel through the 154 districts and will end at the Machava Stadium in Maputo on June 25, the venue for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence.

The act is part of the celebration of the National Independence Jubilee, which aims to re-establish unity and cohesion among the Mozambican people.

The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, also said that the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of National Independence will run until the last day of December this year and will be marked by various socio-political and economic activities.

Chapo was speaking during the IV Ordinary Session of the Frelimo Central Committee, which is taking place at the Frelimo Central School in the municipality of Matola.
