VM7 anuncia na 2ª-feira a “fase ponta de lança” como a etapa final das manifestações

The independent presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane, and "leader of the people", announced today that next Monday he will detail the last stage of the demonstrations in Mozambique, known as the "spearhead phase".

Mondlane promises more organized and targeted actions, focused on achieving "electoral truth" and reforms in the country's democracy.

"On Monday, my brothers, we're going to announce specifically what we're going to do in the final stretch, in the spearhead phase," he said this afternoon in another live stream from his Facebook account.

Mondlane also called on Mozambicans to remain vigilant on Monday, promising that no activities will take place in the country, except those linked to the informal sector.

"On Monday, we'll be at a standstill. There will be no work. Only our mamas in the informal sector will be able to move. Everyone else will have to stay alert to receive the spearhead measures," he said.

Mondlane also said that on Monday, the target would be very precise. "These ministries, provincial governments, district governments, electoral bodies, Frelimo party headquarters (...)," he said.

Mondlane said that until January 15, the movement will have "many obligations and commitments" and asked its supporters not to give up, despite the intimidation and deaths that occurred during the demonstrations.

"We're very close. They've terrorized us, scared us, killed brothers, but we're on the home straight. We can't give up now," he stressed.

The politician also denounced what he called "Frelimo's manipulations" to terrorize the population, including rumors about alleged "armed men" in several neighbourhoods last night.
