The Trade and Development Bank of Eastern Southern Africa has disbursed around seven billion meticais to Mozambique for the exploration of Liquefied Natural Gas in the province of Cabo Delgado.
The information was given this Tuesday (30) by the Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, at the opening of the annual meeting of the bank's Board of Governors.
On the occasion, Maleiane said that the money will boost the creation of more jobs and more revenue for the state, allowing for additional investment in infrastructure and public services. He noted that the bank has provided financing for the agriculture, energy, transportation, logistics and other sectors.
He said that the country can still count on the institution's funding for the promotion, processing and export of cereal grains, with cashew nuts, corn and sesame being the most important.
He pointed out that, despite the challenges caused by extreme weather events and the geopolitical conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine, the Executive has been working with other financial institutions to boost the country's economic growth.
