"Mozambique is an example of resilience in southern Africa" - Lazarus Chakwera

Malawi's President says Mozambique is an example of resilience in southern Africa, despite the adversities the country has suffered.

Lazarus Chakwera pointed to terrorism, natural disasters, and the covid-19 pandemic as being the ones that have put all Mozambicans to the test.

Chakwera assured that his country will continue to seek better experiences with Mozambique to ensure the socio-economic development of the two peoples.

"I am happy because Malawi is on the grandstand and very close to this country, so you may come to learn how you can move in that direction that Mozambique is moving. Because we have been following your footsteps, we see that you continue to develop despite the adversities that we all face. Adversities like natural disasters, the covid-19 pandemic, as well as terrorism," he said.

The President of Malawi was speaking after receiving the "Key to Maputo City" on his second day of visit to the country.
