As of today, Mozambique will hold the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council for 30 days, reports the online news portal Notícias.
This is the first time in history that the country will head the main multilateral body responsible for international peace and security.
This is the result of the unanimous election, also historic, of Mozambique as a non-permanent member of the Security Council for the 2023-2024 biennium, which took place on June 9, 2022.
In this context, Mozambique's permanent representative at the United Nations, Ambassador Pedro Comissário, will be leading all the meetings at the Security Council during the month of March.
