The regular supply of piped water to the city of Pemba, the town of Metuge and the administrative post of Murebwe, in Mecufi district, Cabo Delgado province, was this Tuesday re-established.
The water supply had been interrupted on February 22 because of a malfunction registered in the power transmission line to the Metuge intake and treatment plant and Mieze pumping station.
"We started pumping water into the system on Saturday at 6 pm, but the network was stable today (Tuesday) because all the piping was empty," said the management of the Water Supply Investment and Property Fund (FIPAG).
Because of the breakdown, there were restrictions in the water supply to the city of Pemba, the town of Metuge, the administrative post of Mieze and the district of Murebwe, Mecufi district.
