Nova estrutura orgânica do SERNIC vai contar com departamento da Interpol

The Speaker of the Council of Ministers, Filimão Suaze, announced on Tuesday (02) that the executive will submit the revision of the Law on the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) to parliament for consideration and approval.

"The law aims to respond effectively and efficiently to the challenges of prevention, criminal investigation, the investigation of criminal cases and applies to the National Criminal Investigation Service and its members," he said.

On that occasion, he said that the proposed revision provides for a new organizational structure for SERVIC, consisting of the General Directorate, National Inspectorate, Director's Offices, National Directorates, National Office of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), Specialized Units, Central Autonomous Departments, General Secretariat and Training Establishment.

According to Suaze, this structure could give SERNIC greater capacity to act, to meet the challenges of prevention, investigation, prosecution, combating kidnapping and trafficking in human beings, among others.

"The idea is to move on to other stages that will allow us to improve our actions and our response to the current challenges of fighting crime," he clarified.
