The minister of culture, Eldevina Materula, argues that Chude Mondlane's legacy should be studied by future generations, as his life and work are part of the country's liberation history.
The commitment was expressed during the "last goodbye" of the first daughter of Frelimo's first president, Eduardo Mondlane.
Chude Mondlane lost his life at the age of 66 last week in neighboring South Africa to illness, according to his older brother, Eduardo Mondlane Júnior.
During the funeral ceremonies, which took place yesterday morning, the Minister of Culture, Eldevina Materula, said that the government's mission was to transfer the artist's legacy to the country and the world.
"At this moment of eternal farewell, the government of Mozambique bows before Chudy Mondlane to praise his achievements, to recognize on behalf of the Mozambican people that his life and work are part of the historical process of liberation and development of the country, always with a view to building a prosperous, peaceful nation of social justice," said the minister.
According to Materula, Chude Mondlane influenced public policies and society to improve the living conditions of children, girls and women in our country. He also influenced new generations of artists through culture and to spread development-oriented messages.
