German cooperation and the European Union will donate around 60 million euros to finance renewable energy access projects in rural Mozambique..
According to Rádio Moçambique, the projects will be implemented under the GET Fit Mozambique program, created to boost rural electrification in different African countries.
The program, which is funded by the German government and the European Union, is due to start in Nampula province.
The Deputy Minister for Mineral Resources and Energy, António Saíde, who was speaking in Maputo this Thursday at the launch of the initiative, said that harnessing renewable energy is an unavoidable option.
