The Administrative Court (TA), through the Office of the Accountant General of the State (CCGE), is carrying out audits of the provinces of Manica, Sofala, Tete (Central region), Niassa and Nampula (North), with the aim of assessing budget execution and the application of public funds within the scope of the 2024 Accountant General of the State.
This is a process, according to TA, quoted by NewsThe purpose of this study is to verify and compare, directly on the ground, the data reported in the half-yearly balance sheet of the 2024 Economic and Social Plan and State Budget (PESOE). The results will then be compared with the figures presented in the CGE, in order to ensure their accuracy and compliance with the established standards.
"The audit work in Sofala province is related to the Governor's Office, the Secretary of State, as well as the Irrigation and Food Security Project in Semi-Arid Zones, the Provincial Directorate of Public Works, the Tax Authority Delegation, the Large Taxpayers Unit in the city of Beira and the city's First Tax District," the same publication said.
In Manica province, TA auditors are focusing on the Governor's Office, the Secretary of State's Office and the Manica Polytechnic Institute of Agricultural Sciences construction project.
The institutions targeted in Tete province are the Provincial Planning and Finance Directorate, the Provincial Economic and Finance Service, the Provincial Infrastructure Services and the National Agency for Environmental Quality Control (AQUA).
In Niassa, the project to build and equip two secondary schools and two technical institutes will be audited.
As far as Nampula province is concerned, the work is focused on the municipality of Ilha de Moçambique, the Nampula district government and the Provincial Economic and Finance Service.
This action is part of the TA CGE Accounting Office's Activity Plan for 2024 and is supported by funds from the State Budget.
