An alleged thief was found dead this morning on the roof of a house in the Gueguegue neighborhood, Boane, Maputo province.
According to the owner of the house, the individual took advantage of the fact that it was raining to try to remove some electrical cables.
"When we were notified by the neighborhood, someone was already on the roof of the house. We don't know what time he went up, because there was torrential rain and a thunderstorm. When we went upstairs, we found out that he's not from the neighborhood and nobody knows him," he said.
According to the head of block 3 in the Gueguegue neighborhood, Tomás Sitóe, this is the first time a person has been electrocuted, but the theft of electrical equipment in the area is recurrent.
"This is the first time we've seen this situation, but the theft of electrical cables is frequent. There are several cases, more than 30 houses, it's not just in neighborhood 3, others suffer the same action," he told Notícias.
