This Thursday, the SADC mission fighting terrorism together with the National Defense Forces (FDM) in Cabo Delgado handed over a variety of military equipment captured from terrorists.
The act was part of the closing ceremony of the SADC mission in Mozambique, which had been helping the country fight terrorism since 2021.
"We would like to reiterate that this material was not captured at a glance, it was the result of a lot of sacrifice. It cost the blood of Africans. And we want to believe that the blood shed will water the plants of peace in Africa," said the commander of the SAMIM forces, Major General Patrick Njabulo Dube, quoted by Rádio Moçambique.
Of the material handed over, the highlights are eight RPG-7s and PKMs, a machine gun, a mortar, seventy AK-47s, seven pistols and an AKS/SAR, G3 RIFLE captured from terrorists in various combat operations in the forests of Cabo Delgado. The material also includes rockets, ammunition and cartridges, as well as Islamic holy books.
