Nampula Province now has a cooking gas depot

The President of the Republic inaugurated this Saturday, at the administrative post of Anchilo, in Nampula, the cooking gas reservoir. Belonging to Petromoc, the reservoir is valued at 570 million Meticals, funding from the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy and the company Petróleos de Moçambique (Petromoc).

It consists of four tanks with a capacity of 50 metric tons to fill 5500 cylinders per day in a normal work shift.

With the slogan "Give more gas Mozambique", the construction of the depot is part of the National Program for Massification of Cooking Gas.

On the occasion, the President of the Republic encouraged the use of bottles with few kilograms so that many people can afford them.

"If we insist on large bottles, the population will not adhere. I saw bottles of six, three kilos, and so on. If this is the case, it will be fundamental to vulgarize the consumption of gas in Mozambique, which is important because gas is clean, healthy, and defends nature. By insisting on coal we are destroying nature. Using gas in Mozambique is not a luxury. The gas stove is fast," said Filipe Nyusi.
