Today in Maputo, the President of the Republic (PR), Filipe Nyusi, launched the electronic system for issuing visas to foreigners, called 'e-Visa'.
The system will be operated by the National Migration Service and is expected to reduce bureaucracy, fight corruption, improve the business environment and encourage good governance.
"Another added value can be seen in the simplification of procedures for obtaining visas for those entering the country, which could greatly boost tourism and companies operating in this area, directly or indirectly," said Nyusi, quoted by "STV".
This is a measure to attract more foreign investment and boost tourism in Mozambique, according to the PR, who was speaking on the sidelines of the 32nd Coordinating Council of the Ministry of the Interior.
Nyusi demands that migration officials and agents be properly trained and qualified to meet the demands of implementing the measure.
"[Quality and flexible services must be provided] focused on creating facilities and not difficulties," he warned.
