The application for the national co-funding of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) affected by hurricanes Idai and Kenneth, which hit the central and northern regions of the country, is underway.
Designated equivalent grants and due to end next month, it is an initiative being implemented by the Idai Post Cyclone Reconstruction Office (GREPOC), an entity with a vocation to ensure the coordination of loss assessment and prepare reconstruction programs for the areas covered.
In a press release GREPOC refers that the program will act in the city of Beira and in the districts of Búzi, Caia, Chemba, Cheringoma, Chibabava, Dondo, Gorongosa, Machanga, Marínguè, Marromeu, Muanza and Nhamatanda, in Sofala.
In Cabo Delgado it may intervene in the city of Pemba and districts of Palma, Mocímboa da Praia, Muidumbe, Mueda and Nagande and in Manica, in Chimoio, Manica, Gondola, Sussundenga, Macossa, Báruè, Macossa, Guro, Macate, Machaze, Mossurize, Tambara and Vandúzi.
In Nampula, it will benefit companies located in the districts of Eráti, Memba, Monapo and Nacarrôa. In Zambezia, the districts of Milange, Morrumbala, Maganja da Costa, Chinde, Inhassunge, Nicoadala, Namacurra and Mocuba. Inhambane, in Govuro and Vilanculo and in the province of Tete, the city of Tete, Changara, Dôa and Mutarara.
"It is important to emphasize that the provinces of Sofala and Cabo Delgado should absorb 50 percent of the financed projects, because they are the ones that suffered the most from these cyclones," stresses the communiqué quoted by the newspaper Notícias.
