Since yesterday, April 13, Mozambique has been taking part in EXPO OSAKA 2025, which is being held in Japan, on Yumeshima Island, in the Kansai region of Osaka prefecture. On the first day of the event, around 140,000 people visited EXPO OSAKA 2025, of which nearly 9,000 visited the Mozambican pavilion.
The Mozambican pavilion was visited by the Chargé d'Affaires Ad Interim of the Mozambican Embassy in Japan, José Nhalungo, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Angola in Japan, Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho.
The concept of Mozambique's participation in EXPO 2025 falls under sub-theme (ii) Empowering Lives (education and work using artificial intelligence and robotics). The action-theme is "The Role and Relevance of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Boosting the Goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)".
The main theme of EXPO OSAKA 2025 is "Designing the Future Society for Our Lives", a message that is in line with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Agenda 2030.
According to the event's organizers, Expo Osaka 2025 will be attended by 158 countries and exhibitors from various regions of the world, and could attract around 30 million visitors during its six-month duration, from April 13 to October 13.
Visitors to Expo OSAKA 2025 have the great opportunity to learn about the development profile of the different countries and their economic and social level, tourism potential and the different value chains linked to the cultural and recreational industries, as well as the contributions of science and technology in a changing world.
Each participating nation, region and organization will have a "National Day" dedicated to each event, which will provide the opportunity to hold ceremonies and events for visitors to get to know their unique cultures and traditions better.
