Frelimo's secretary-general, Chakil Aboobacar, met yesterday in Maputo with the Egyptian ambassador to Mozambique, Mohamed Fragjal, to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between the parties.
At the meeting, Chakil Aboobacar explained to the head of the Egyptian diplomatic mission in the country that the Mozambican government, supported by Frelimo, is committed to peacemaking through closer dialogue with different sensitivities in society, as a way of strengthening the foundations for progress and development in Mozambique.
For his part, the Egyptian ambassador praised the fact that this year Mozambique and Egypt are celebrating the 50th anniversary of relations of cooperation and friendship, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of national independence. (News)
