Mozambique Begins Study on Efficacy of Covid-19 Vaccines

A study that aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Covi-19 vaccines, which are being administered in the country, begins next month in the greater Maputo region.

The Director General of the National Institute of Health, Ilesh Jany, who revealed the fact, this Tuesday, to Radio Mozambique, indicated that the action is part of the protocols for evaluating the effectiveness of drugs in each member country of the World Health Organization.

Ilesh Jany reiterated that so far all vaccines being administered in the country have been approved by the WHO, and protect against deaths and serious illness caused by the new Coronavirus.

Although most of the country's provinces are experiencing a reduction in new infections, the National Institute of Health does not rule out the possibility of the country being hit by a fourth wave of the pandemic.

Ilesh Jany points to vaccination and strict compliance with disease prevention measures as measures that can retract the emergence of a fourth intense wave in the country.
