The president of the Confederation of Economic Associations CTA, Agostinho Vuma, says that the long queues on the ships could harm the logistics operator.
Defends port and customs clearance for better business profitability.
"It has become much more expensive to do logistics business by road. Therefore, there are costs related to travel time, but also, above all, the risk that is being pointed out today, through the assessments made by our insurers. This is an alternative route," said Agostinho Vuma, quoted by "O País".
The private sector says that, at first, the waiting time for clearance is going to be very important, but says it is satisfied.
"The operation that has been announced, of around 10,000 tons, means that there are around 340 30-ton trucks that would be operating on just one ship. This is satisfactory for us, in terms of one more piece of cargo, but also in terms of the logistics operation, which has to be carried out from one point to another," he said.
Vuma was speaking today on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony for two cabotage ships in the port of Maputo.
