The government will spend around 177 billion meticais this year to pay salaries and wages under the Single Wage Scale (TSU), which corresponds to around 13.5 % of Gross Domestic Product.
The data was shared by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Amílcar Tivane, who said at the time that the government's commitment is to ensure that spending on salaries does not exceed this amount.
According to the government, the conditions are already in place for it to be able to apply the TSU, which has been in force in the civil service since July last year, within the budgetary limit established by law, under the heading of wages and salaries.
The source also guaranteed that the sustainability of the measures put forward within the framework of the TSU will in no way affect the State Budget.
