The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy says that the mapping of areas for the concession of renewable energy mini-grids is underway in the country.
Teodoro Vales was speaking this Tuesday in Maputo at the opening of the Business Conference - Renewables in Mozambique 2022.
Vales stressed that the government is aware that the participation of the private sector is crucial to achieving the national electrification targets, based on new and renewable energies.
The source said that "the executive has been introducing legal reforms in the sector to attract investors in the area of new and renewable energies, with results already visible".
The European Union Representative in Mozambique, António Maggiore, has announced that the European Union-Mozambique Business Forum will be held in Maputo in 2023.
For the period 2021-2024, the European Union and the private sector have allocated nearly nine hundred million euros for investments in new and renewable energies.
