COP28: United Arab Emirates invite Mozambique to participate in the climate conference

The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has invited his Mozambican counterpart to take part in the COP-28 climate conference to be held in November.

The invitation comes at a time of rapprochement between Mozambique and the United Arab Emirates.

According to a statement from the Arab embassy in Mozambique, quoted by Lusa, there has been a "positive evolution in cooperation relations between the two countries in the political, diplomatic and economic fields".

The Arab embassy also highlights "the encouraging level of public-private sector investment and humanitarian action".

The Emirates emphasize that "the main achievement of COP 27 was the creation of a fund aimed at the poorest nations", which are "negatively affected" by natural disasters "that are the consequences of climate change".

In this respect, Mozambique is among the most vulnerable countries in the world.

The cooperation plans between the UAE and Mozambique cover several areas.
