The Secretary of State in Maputo City, Vicente Joaquim, has ordered the interruption of classes in all public and private schools and technical-vocational training institutions.

A note from the Council of State Representation Services in Maputo indicates that the measure came into force on Monday and is expected to last until Friday, March 29.

The measure aims to ensure the safety of students in the face of the rain that has been falling since the early hours of March 24 and which has made many roads impassable, as well as flooded courtyards and classrooms
