Another businessman of Asian origin by the name of Nurani Gulamo was kidnapped this morning in the city of Matola, Maputo province.

According to witnesses heard at the scene, the businessman was kidnapped by four individuals armed with firearms as he was leaving his home to go to work.

The kidnappers were being transported in a black Sarv light vehicle. At the time of the attack, the kidnappers fired three shots to scare away the local residents.

The driver, who was in the car with the businessman at the time of the kidnapping, even tried to chase the kidnappers, but people advised him to take another street.

"When we arrived, we saw that the driver who was with the businessman was running after the car. Then the people said it was better to take the car and go down another street," said a witness quoted by "O País"

The police have confirmed the kidnapping and say they are already working in coordination with SERNIC to clarify the case and neutralize the perpetrators.

The police also said that they are on the ground and will provide more information in due course.
