Two hundred and fourteen schools remain closed due to the terrorist attacks that have been taking place for over six years in Cabo Delgado province.
As a result, more than eighteen thousand pupils in the Macomia district are not attending classes, according to information provided by Rádio Moçambique.
The latest attack in May paralyzed the teaching and learning process, forcing the closure of all fifty-five schools in the Macomia district, with around seventeen thousand pupils affected.
The pupils and teachers displaced from Macomia are being reintegrated into schools in the host districts, the spokesman for the Provincial Directorate of Education in Cabo Delgado, Melchior Patrício, told Rádio Moçambique.
