The President of the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF), Feizal Sidat, revealed today, at the headquarters in Maputo, the problems in relations between his board and the coach of the national soccer team, Francisco Queriol "Chiquinho" Conde.
At a press conference, Sidat presented some of the problems "under the carpet" that have led to rumors about whether or not Chiquinho will continue at the helm of the Mambas.
He accused Chiquinho of creating a bad atmosphere at the FMF and of being less patriotic towards those who receive less financial subsidies for their work at the FMF.
According to Feizal, the Mambas coach is causing discomfort in the federation because he also wants to review contractual issues. In addition, the FM president noted that Chiquinho "should wash his dirty linen at home". According to Feizal, the Mambas coach has violated his contract with the federation by bringing up contractual issues that go against the FMF "which pays his wages".
Despite having exposed the "nakedness" of the problems, Feizal said that Chiquinho is free to decide whether or not to continue leading the national soccer team. From the FMF's point of view, the decision will need to be taken in consultation with the board of directors.
He noted that the gains acclaimed about the national soccer team come from joint efforts and not just from one figure. According to Faizal, it was the FMF that saw, brought and nationalized outstanding Mozambican players outside the country.
