Cabo Delgado: Terrorism forces STAE to use air resources to allocate electoral material

Due to rain and terrorism, the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) will use air transportation to allocate voter registration material and delegates in some districts of Cabo Delgado.

"We have the problem of road 380, which goes to the five northern districts, we have islands, both in Palma and Mocímboa, in the area of Quissanga and Ibo, we are going to rely on air resources at the level of the central STAE and the National Electoral Commission to deal with this issue," said Cassamo Camal, quoted by the newspaper O Pais

"In the areas where we have fewer security difficulties, we will have small vehicles to deploy both the members and the equipment for the voter registration process," the source added.

Camal assured, however, that everything possible will be done to ensure that Cabo Delgado does not fall behind in the process that begins this Friday throughout the country.

In all, 28,900 voters are expected to be registered in Cabo Delgado province.
