Around 80% of a total of 1,086 "sites", structures that house telecom equipment and antennas.unications, are already operational.

This is being done as part of the implementation of the second phase of Tmcel - Moçambique Telecom's ongoing network modernization and expansion project in the country.

The operationalization includes replacements, internal coverings and the implementation of new sites.

It should be noted that between December last year and January, Niassa province was the most prominent, with more than 50 new sites set up, 15 of which already have LTE (Long-Term Evolution) technology.

It is a wireless communication technology designed to offer high data transfer rates, low latency and the ability to support a wide range of multimedia services.

It is also planned to update the network on internal roofs (such as those in large shopping centers). The process, which is underway, is fully operational in some shopping centers in the city and province of Maputo.

It should be noted that all the country's provinces have already been covered by this project, and more sites are still in the process of being made operational.
